In the past year and
half we have rescued and placed 22 shelties. We have gotten them from
owner turn-ins, shelters and animal control. we have had sables and tri's, but
have never had a blue come to us.
Right now we have Belle and Beau who came in together and really need to go
together or at least to a home with other dogs. Belle in particular needs
company or she gets very depressed.
We also have Peanut, who is 14 years old and deaf. She must go to a very
special home, then there is Pokey. He is a very sweet boy but has a
terrible over bite. As soon as he is through with his heartworm treatment
he will be available to be adopted.
All dogs come to their new homes up to date on all shots and free of internal
and external parasites.
We require a fenced back yard and a home visit done before the adoption can take
place.

Indiana Sheltie Rescue is a
private non profit organization of individuals who love shelties and have come
together to help homeless shelties . We get our shelties from shelters ,
owners who surrender them and good samaritans that find them. All dogs
are placed in foster homes for complete medical and temperament evaluation and
received needed medical care . All adopters are required to fill out an
application , have a home visit , sign an adoption contract and pay an
adoption fee . Due to limited resources , we are mostly only able to
adopt within the borders of Indiana .

Finding homes for unwanted and abandoned adult Shelties. Second Chance Sheltie
Rescue is an non-profit volunteer organization that helps unwanted or abandoned
Shelties. All Shelties are given necessary veterinary care, spayed or neutered,
vaccinated, and their temperament evaluated. All adoptive homes are carefully
screened to ensure the best possible match. Fenced yards are a requirement for
the safety of our dogs. Second Chance Sheltie Rescue of St. Louis, Missouri is
directed by Tracy Buck. We serve the St. Louis Area and surrounding counties.

We check their temperament and match them with the right home. Adopters are home-checked
and matched with the right dog.
We have been rescuing for 8 yrs and have placed over 250 shelties.
We always welcome new foster homes and have t-shirts, sweatshirts and zippered
tote bags available for sale with our logs.
Dogs come in often so check with me for any updates or if you don't see a dog
that matches you but do want to adopt a sheltie.

profit organization. We depend on the generosity of the general public for
everything from food to toys. Our adoption fees usually aren't enough to cover

Sheltie Haven is a resource
for shelties and those who love them. With each dog who comes into our
program, there is a certain amount of emotional, mental of physical baggage.
It is very important to us to work with each sheltie, emphasizing
rehabilitation, training and lots of love. It is our goal that each dog that
comes through our program not only finds a wonderful home, but also is a
better pet for having known us.
Education is also very important to us. We are willing to counsel those who
have problems with their dogs. Saving a home is such a joy to us! And we are
available to offer whatever resources we have to aid any sheltie in need.
We are always in need of foster homes. Anyone interested in fostering should
contact the coordinator about our foster program. It is a very enriching way
to give back to the dogs who give so much and require so little

We adopt only to local
applicants (Washington State). We do not ship dogs out of the
area. Home visits are required to verify safety of fences and gates,
etc. All dogs are spayed or neutered. They usually
reside in our foster homes for a few weeks prior to placement, so we can provide
a fair
assessment of personality and temperament.
The Shelties come in all ages, all sizes, all colors, both sexes. ADOPTION
APPLICATIONS are available by contacting Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue (SPDR) at www.spdrdogs.org

form mailed. All our rescued shelties are placed via this non-profit
organization.
