Description
As a puppy “Bode” (Bo-dee) was just a moderate, well build little guy with a headpiece that was spectacular. His temperament was eye catching and fun and his coat jet back. He came from a litter of 5 puppies with a tri girl also going to a show home and the rest of the bi-black boys for one reason or another ending up in pet homes, which looking back is quite a shame as they were also very nice. Bode is sired by BISS Am/Can Ch Bach Belmark On Canvas, Monet, a beautiful and rather plain tricolor male, he has tons of coat, a personality that makes friends wherever he goes, he is moderate about 15” tall, with a sweet pretty face, good tailset, solid clean moving movement and a beautiful rear with short hocks. His dam was very plain and rather elegant with an outline that struck you and ample bone for a bitch. She was sold overseas so it happened that this was to be our last chance to duplicate this breeding. As Bode grew up I knew that he was going to be special, as most of our puppies he did not fall apart, but it was the act of getting nicer and nicer that struck me the most, he was a moderate chubby puppy, with tons of thick full coat and no reddishness or dullness, so I knew he carried that wonderful black black color that does not rust. At his first show at just barely six month he won a specialty RWD, and we were off, Bode went a couple months later to the ASSA National where he placed in his puppy Futurity class and then went out with Karen Munster who finished him in a few months with three majors, with specialty wins, and all arounders. The following year at the 2008 ASSA National Bode was able to go as a stud and even at just 2 years of age and having only produced a few litters as he was gone for a while at shows that year, he was able to get a solid 2 nd place in the stud dog class, what an honor. A few months later we sent him up to friend Beverly Klassen who had him for a few months where he entertained the ladies and also finished his Canadian Championship with ease. Bode continues to impress us and others with his consistent, strong producing ability: With every litter having a number of show puppies. You can pick out his puppies just by their “look”. At three years of age, Bode has 5 Canadian Champions and 7 American pointed kids, with a few close to finishing. Within a year or two we hope to easily be able to ROM and ROMC him. We thank all of those that have sent their lovely bitches to Bode and those that continue to use him. We hope that he will make a difference in the breed’s future. Bode is good at stamping that outline, good bone, coat, a pretty face with nice dark eye and underjaws, with lean skulls. His puppies generally have that nice neck and good tailsets with shorter bodies, and good length of leg under them. More to come I am sure in the coming years from this beautiful non white factored bi-black boy.
Update 7/7/10 Bode at just 4 years has more than gathered enough Canadian Champion offspring for his ROMC and is on 7 American Champions with 18 more pointed and close to finishing. So that ROM is just around the corner. I would like to thank all of those that have supported this black boy and we have lost fo plans for him inthe future
