Dear Senate Agriculture Legislative Assistant

As a small hobby breeder of shelties, I strongly oppose the PAWS bill. It will destroy the hobby kennels where we raise only a few litters a year for show and performance. Most of us treat our dogs like our children with love and the utmost care for their welfare. We do not want to be regulated in such a way that it makes it illegal to have our beloved companions and show dogs as house pets. The nature of this bill may be designed to try and keep control of "puppy mills", but it is poorly written and will have a tremendous impact on the hobby of raising and showing dogs. It will greatly hurt the hunting dogs and the other hobbies that require raising some litters each year. I am very disappointed that AKC supports the bill. Please add me to the list of those who are in strong opposition to the PAWS bill. Thank you for your time.
